Instant Access is a same day transportation service
of Access Scioto County Public Transit. This special Shared Ride Demand
Response Curb-to-Curb Transportation service is available to the general public who live in Portsmouth or New Boston that
need a same day ride within Portsmouth or New Boston Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The service was developed to compliment our regular
County wide 24-Hour Schedule in advance Demand Response Curb-to-Curb service.
On a daily basis ASC receives requests
for same day trips from people who have an emergency or a last minute change of plans.
While we make every attempt to work these requests into our pre-scheduled trips many times we cannot and have to deny
the request for a trip. The Instant Access service is intended to help meet the
demand for these types of same day trips
HOW IT WORKS
To get a ride simply call the ASC Instant
Access line at 355-ABUS or 2287 anytime Monday – Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and tell us who and where you are
and where you want to go. The ASC Instant Access Bus will be sent to your location
to pick you up as soon as it is available.
CONVENIENCE YOU CAN
AFFORD
The Instant Access
service is designed to be convenient yet affordable. The cost per person per
one-way trip is $2.00. Those who qualify for the ASC Elderly & Disabled Reduce
Fare Program (E&D) and Children 12 and under can ride for $1.00 per person per one-way trip. There is a $1.00 additional charge each additional stop. The
Bus will wait up to 3 minutes at each stop. There’s an additional $1.00
charge for every additional minute of wait time after 3 minutes. Passengers
are limited to 4 carry on bags per household. There is an additional charge
of 50-cents per bag for each bag over 4-bag limit. The service is cash or tickets
only so please have correct change or a ticket and pay your fare upon boarding.
